Pension provision

Business Daily

Available for over a year

Are pensions a human right, or just a privilege? And what is the best way to save for your own retirement? Across the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½, we are looking at the subject of pensions. In an age where global growth is sagging, and government austerity is taking hold in Europe, state pensions are under threat and many businesses have reduced the value of company pensions. Lesley Curwen talks to Krzysztof Hagemejer, Coordinator of Social Security Policy at the International Labour office in Geneva and Dhirendra Kumar who runs Value Research, an Indian internet investment website, who is an expert on pensions in India plus Agnes Jongerius, Chair of the Dutch Trade Union confederation, the FNV. And the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Alex Ritson reports from Berlin, in Germany, where the modern idea of pensions was invented.
