But now many Nigerians believe that efforts to tackle corruption will lead the country into a new era. Meanwhile in Germany, reunification twenty years ago was, in effect, an absorption of the east into the west. Two decades on and over a trillion euros later, many Germans from the east still feel that they got a raw deal.
