The Ulster-Scots Heritage Council is holding a festival in Belfast from 9th-13th November 2005, and Diane Hoy, Chair of the Organising Committee, tells Liam Logan about plans for the festival. Events include the launch of a new exhibition, the Ulster-Scots Story, in Central Library; a costumed monologue on Jean Armour (Robert Burns’ wife); and an Ulster-Scots cultural evening in West Belfast Orange Hall, run by Citadel. There will also be an open air pipe band parade in front of the City Hall; and to finish off the festival, there’ll be a church service in Fitzroy Presbyterian with scripture readings and prayers in the Ulster-Scots language. The festival is open to everybody in the community and should be both fun and informative. (Broadcast: 02/10/2005)
