Moving to Britain: Priya and Hargun (uploaded by Priya)

The Listening Project

Available for over a year

Dr Hargun moved to Britain in the early 1950s from Sindh Province, now in Pakistan, to pursue a career in medicine. His granddaughter Priya is curious about how he found the country and how people treated him. Despite encountering a Welsh priest who wondered if he wore feathered skirts in India, Hargun found British honesty to be as impressive as its ignorance was astounding.
