Bisexuality

Woman's Hour

Available for over a year

The singer Jessie J has been vocal about her bisexuality, but now the author of a new unofficial biography of the star has claimed she is really a lesbian and not bisexual. The author claims certain people believed being bi was trendy, exotic and a fashion statement which would increase her allure. These allegations have been denied. But is it really more acceptable for a woman to be bisexual and what does all this say about attitudes towards bisexual and lesbian women? Jane Garvey is joined by Louise Carolin, the deputy editor of Diva magazine, and Surya Monro from Huddersfield University, who is currently writing a book about bisexuality.
