Al Ahly, the Kolkata derby and Aleksandar Duric

World Football

Available for over a year

World Football spends time with Al Ahly at the Club World Cup, 10 months after more than 70 of their fans were killed in Egypt’s worst football disaster. We hear from coach Hossam El Badry, board member Khalid Mortagy and Assad the founder of the Al Ahly Ultras - who also played a key part in the Egyptian revolution. We’re at Asia’s oldest derby, in Kolkata, where India international Syed Rahim Nabi suffered a broken jaw after being hit by a stone, thrown from his own fans. And the Singapore striker Aleksandar Duric speaks to us about life as an Olympian and a professional footballer, a week before retiring from international football at the age of 42.
