Light sensitive: Alice and Tracey

The Listening Project

Available for over a year

Alice is one of only fifty people in the UK who suffer from the hereditary disease Xeroderma Pigmentosum, a disorder that causes blindness and skin cancer. To play outside with her friends she has to wear a hat, visor and gloves. The school and local swimming pool have put protective film on the windows. Diagnosed at the age of three, her life has changed for ever, but Alice is still a normal little girl who wants to play on the beach, but it has to be in the dark.
