According to Salford Council, there are more off-licenses in the city than anywhere else outside of Greater London. On a one kilometre stretch of Liverpool Road in Patricroft, they say there are 77 licensed premises. Now, the Mayor of Salford is calling for more power to restrict the number of shops selling alcohol. At the moment, the law doesn't allow the councils to think of health when dealing with applications. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Manchester's Jonathan Ali reports.
