What did the Romans do for Guernsey?

Jim Cathcart

Available for over a year

Guernsey's chief archaeologist says the lack of Celtic coins found in the island could be due to a very strong Roman presence here. Over the years the total number of Celtic coins found in Jersey has risen to 120,000 but only 5 have been found in Guernsey. Dr Philip De Jersey explains this may be due to rebellious Celts avoiding Guernsey because it was so busy with Roman forces.
