Grandparents or parents; how was school for you? Did the experience make you wary of becoming involved in activities at your own child’s school? Well an appeal has gone out to Black parents to step up and join the largest volunteer force in the country as school governors or sitting on a school appeals panel. On Saturday the first in a series of events was held in Derby highlighting the advantage of taking an active role in your children's education. In this clip Locksley Ford, a mentor, tells Devon Daley the importance of getting involved.
