Richard's daughter Abbie died of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy seven years ago when she was ten and a half years old, and her sudden loss still hurts Richard and his sister-in-law Emma. The family set up a charity in her memory called 'Abbie's Love', which works hard to prevent other parents having to deal with the death of a loved one from SUDEP. Its this legacy that has enabled Richard to move on from the tragic death of his daughter and the downward spiral of alcoholism and depression that he'd fallen into...
