In 1955 Cyril Northcote Parkinson anatomised the world of work in his worldwide best seller Parkinson’s Law, which famously argued that: “Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.” It was a revolutionary sentiment in the bureaucratic post-war world and as Matthew Sweet discovers, Parkinson and his work are being rediscovered by a new generation of thinkers.
