Anita Roddick

Woman's Hour

Available for over a year

Anita Roddick turned a small homemade cosmetics shop in Brighton into a global brand. There are now branches of 'The Body Shop' in high streets up and down Britain and around the world. As well as being one of the most high profile business women in the UK she spent time campaigning against globalisation. Find out how she squares running a multinational company with being an anti-capitalist protestor. Anita Roddick died aged 64 in 2007, due to complications from long-standing hepatitis C. She fulfilled her promise to leave her estate to charities, on moral grounds.
