‘Dyslexia’ term should be dropped, new book argues

World Update

Available for over a year

The term “dyslexia” lacks scientific value and should be dropped, a new book argues. The Dyslexia Debate, written by educational experts at Durham and Yale universities, says resources would be better focussed on helping children learn to read rather than finding a diagnosis for them. Dyslexia charities have challenged the findings. Professor Julian Elliot is one of the book’s authors.
