The chief medical officer for England, Dame Sally Davies has said a tax on sugar would help the nation’s health. Dr Gabriel Scally, a former regional director of public health told 5 live that "we shouldn't be putting up the price of food", while Simon Capewell, Professor of public health at the University of Liverpool, thinks a sugar tax is "a no brainer”.
