How do you get children reading challenging books?

World Update

Available for over a year

UK children aged 11 or 12 are turning their backs on difficult books, instead picking books that are considered too easy for their age, a new study has found. By contrast, children from the ages of five and ten are choosing books "far above" their age group. Discussing this on World Update were Robert Muchamore, who writes spy novels for young adults and Philip Pullman, author of the award-winning His Dark Materials trilogy. Are distractions like social media to blame?
