Is mental health taken seriously enough?

Morning Call

Available for over a year

A debate at Holyrood yesterday highlighted the fact that patients with mental health problems are being left to suffer because waiting list targets are not being met. Concerns were raised as it emerged that mental ill health accounts for 45% of illness in all people not working. During the debate, led by Lib Dem MSP Jim Hume, the Scottish Government was urged to enshrine in law the notion that mental and physical health should be given equal importance. Louise White asks if mental ill health is taken seriously enough?
