Wendi and Alison have been friends since meeting as teenagers on the London punk scene in the late 70s. After drifting apart in later years, their friendship was rekindled when Alison was diagnosed with cancer. Since discovering the cancer is incurable, Alison says she has become the woman she was meant to be, and has even taken up art under the persona of Derek Hackney - inspired by a visit to a David Hockney exhibition. During their conversation, Alison and Wendi discovered they have rather different ideas of just who ‘Derek Hackney’ is.
