Before World War One, the world's foremost navies focussed their resources on building dreadnoughts - large, heavily armed battleships. However, advances in naval technology meant these expensive ships did not have the prominent role expected and civilian boats and crews volunteered to serve on Britain’s front line. Find out about the little ships from St Peter Port Harbour, like the Maid of Guernsey that played a big role in naval war.
