Would you think twice about taking in a rescue dog?

Morning Call

Available for over a year

Louise White asks if you would think twice about taking in a rescue dog. A family has warned dog lovers to choose carefully when picking their pet, after their 14 year old son was attacked by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The dog had been bought from the Scottish SPCA鈥檚 animal rescue centre in Hamilton in March. The boy鈥檚 father has called for the Scottish SPCA to tighten up their procedures. Scottish SPCA Chief Superintendent Mike Flynn said, 鈥 The dog was a stray that we rescued and showed no signs of aggression. If there had been any indication this could happen, we would not have rehomed the dog.鈥
