World War One At ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½

Available for over a year

Arklow is a picturesque seaside town in County Wicklow. During the war, the Kynoch Explosives Factory stretched a mile along the town’s north beach. Five thousand men, women and children worked here around the clock, providing munitions for British forces on the continent. Towards the end of the war, an explosion killed 27 workers. The cause of the incident remains unsolved, as historian Jim Rees explains. Location: Arklow, Co Wicklow.
