In 1964, the American composer Terry Riley put on a concert of his music at the San Francisco Tape Music Centre, a concert which saw the premiere of a work which is now seen as one of the first pieces of musical Minimalism: In C. Examining In C and a host of other works, Charles Hazlewood and the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Concert Orchestra explore the rise of this phenomenon, its popularity today and its roots in both American and European music of the past.
