Loughborough Carillon, Leicestershire: Honouring the Fallen

World War One At ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½

Available for over a year

The Carillon in Loughborough is a unique monument to the 480 men from the town who died in World War One. It’s the only purpose built carillon tower in the country, and the 47 bells which were cast less than a mile away play a musical tribute specially written for the Carillon by Sir Edward Elgar . Today, the Carillon also houses a museum, which is run by volunteers. It tells the stories of those who died and displays their medals.
