Lawyer explains how 'revenge porn' victims can get help

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Peers have rejected calls for a new law against so-called "revenge porn," claiming it was covered by existing obscenity and harassment laws. Justice Minister Mike Penning said the government was looking "seriously" into the issue to make sure any loopholes which let the "wholly unacceptable behaviour go unpunished" were closed. "Revenge porn" is when people post explicit images of their former partner on the internet. Lawyer Rupinder Bains, who specialises in cases involving social media, explained to 5 live what people could do if they were affected. First broadcast on 5 live News on Tuesday 29 July 2014.
