Jamaicans: Usain Bolt is 'mobbed' like Michael Jackson

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Jamaicans attending the Commonwealth Games say they "understand" if Usain Bolt is frustrated, as he is "mobbed" everywhere. Swimmer Jevon Atkinson and Jamaican High Commissioner Aloun Ndombet-Assamba said they "felt sad" Bolt was unable to take 'selfies' with fans, embrace the culture and walk around Glasgow "like an ordinary person." It comes after The Times newspaper reported that Bolt made disparaging remarks about the games, something he disputes as "nonsense". "He's our Michael Jackson," Jevon said. First broadcast on Glasgow Live on 31 July 2014.
