5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Pilot, Andrew Preston crashed into another glider at 4500 ft during a competition in Cambridgeshire. The 70 year old told 5 Live that his "training kicked in" once he realised he was in serious trouble. Mr Preston says the first person he called was his wife, and despite the crash he will not stop gliding because he "loves flying". This was first broadcast on Commonwealth Breakfast 2 August 2014.
