Donovan Bailey on losing mother to Alzheimer’s

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Olympic gold winning sprinter Donovan Bailey has spoken about the difficulties of losing his mother to Alzheimer’s disease. The sprinter, who was once the fastest man in the world, said it was hard knowing his mother was there physically, "but not there" mentally. She died in Jamaica late last year after living with the condition for ten years. Donovan is now trying to raise awareness about the disease. This clip is originally from Tony Livesey on Wednesday 6 August 2014.
