Michael Palin: Robin Williams was 'possessed by comedy'

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Michael Palin has paid tribute to Robin Williams, who has apparently died after taking his own life aged 63. The Monty Python actor said Williams was "possessed by comedy" and had an "extraordinary" talent for improvisation. "His ear for mimicry was superb and he could do parody brilliantly," he said. "I can imagine that having that ability is a bit like being possessed - the devil of comedy is in you and it must have been hard to live with." This clip is originally from Richard Bacon on Tuesday 12 August 2014.
