In 1924, a group of British postal workers put together a time capsule that, despite the odds, has survived. They left clear instructions that it should be opened on 4 August 2014. But it might never have been brought to public attention were it not for a woman called Janice Kennedy. She read about it in an old diary while researching her family tree. But this was only a year before it was due to be opened and she was worried she wouldn’t find it in time. She tells Jennifer Tracey why it’s so important.
