Modern forensic techniques have revealed details of how Richard III died. The English king, who reigned from 1483 to 1485, was killed at the battle of Bosworth on 22 August 1485. His body was found under a car park in Leicester City Centre in 2012. These latest results, published in The Lancet, show he had a large number of head wounds and probably lost his helmet in the thick of battle. Professor Sarah Hainsworth from the University of Leicester spoke to Rachel Burden about the findings, saying "We found 11 injuries, nine of those were to the skull and there were other injuries to the rib and pelvis".
