Salmond: No camp 'fearmongering' turning voters to Yes

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond says "fearmongering" by Westminster is making No voters turn to the Yes campaign. He said people did not find "scaremongering" tactics "persuasive" and they would prefer to vote for something "optimistic". Asked by chief political correspondent John Pienaar if some Yes Campaign supporters had been intimidating others, Salmond said the majority of voters had behaved "impeccably". However, he added that all supporters on both sides should "behave with respect" and those who acted otherwise should be "condemned". This clip is originally from Drive on Wednesday 17 September 2014.
