5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Ryder Cup founder Samuel Ryder was "a very public spirited man" who would be "astounded" by the profile and scale of the event, his granddaughter Mary Moore has said. Samuel Ryder established the golf competition in 1927 as a way to raise the profile of British golfers. Mary Moore said the biennial trophy had "grown in to something quite unbelievable". This clip is from Clare Balding Ryder Cup preview on Thursday 25 September 2014.
