Indus

Available for over a year

Prayers for the British hostage Alan Henning have been held at mosques across Greater Manchester. Alan Henning, from Eccles in Salford, was seized while on an aid mission to Syria last December. Muslim organisations from across the region are calling on the group Islamic State to release him. Dr Shameela Islam-Zulfiqar is a humanitarian activist from Greater Manchester, and worked with him on an aid convoy to Syria, before he was captured. In this extract ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Manchester and Lancashire's Talat-Farooq Awan speaks to her about what local groups are doing to secure his release.
