Brother fears for hunger-strike sister in Iranian jail

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

The brother of a British-Iranian woman held in a Tehran jail fears his sister's condition will "deteriorate" fast if her hunger strike continues. Ghoncheh Ghavami, from Shepherd's Bush in West London, was arrested for trying to watch a men's volleyball match at the Azadi Stadium in the Iranian capital in June. More than 100,000 people have signed a petition calling for her to be freed and the Foreign Office have raised concerns about her condition with the Iranian government. Her brother Iman welcomed the Foreign Office's involvement, saying it was a "matter of life and death". This clip is originally from 5 live Drive on 6 October 2014
