Pitchfork Copper (Part 1)

Jim Davis and Jo Hayward

Available for over a year

One of Leicestershire's most notorious police cases is set to be immortalised in a new TV drama, with filming starting in the next few weeks. ITV's 'the Code of a Killer' - starring David Threlfall and John Simm - follows the murders of 15 year-olds Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth in the 1980's. The case was the first to use DNA technology to catch the killer - local baker, Colin Pitchfork. John Simm is playing Professor Sir Alec Jeffreys - whose ground breaking work at the University of Leicester led to its success, and David Threlfall is playing Chief Superintendent Dave Baker - whose tenacity and willingness to use something completely new, led to Pitchfork being sentenced to 30 years in prison.ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Leicester's Bridget Blair has been to meet Dave - and ask what he thinks of a drama being commissioned all these years later
