Lorry Driver Shortage

Jim Davis and Jo Hayward

Available for over a year

Christmas is just a few months away, and more of us than ever will be relying on deliveries to get your packages to where they need to be. But haulage firms in Leicester are warning a desperate shortage of drivers could leave many disappointed this year. Thousands of older drivers are retiring, while new ones are being put off by the amount of accreditation and training needed. Leicestershire's always been a popular place for haulage companies - like DHL and Pallex, with its central location - and links to the M1. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Leicester's Bridget Blair has been to Bardon to visit two businesses for their take on this - first of all she met up with Ian Harding from Hardings Transport
