Everything is now on track for Leicester's first free Sikh School to open on Monday!

Jim Davis and Jo Hayward

Available for over a year

Leicester's first free Sikh school will open on Monday on the site of old Towers Hospital in Northfields. Falcons Primary had been due to open at the start of the Autumn term but just days earlier questions were raised by the Department of Education about the school's management. It meant everything pretty much stopped and we were told it could be a year before it could open. The move left many parents desperately searching for places at other schools - in fact lots of children ended up in schools dotted around the City. Now though, after various meetings with MP's and councillors, the school gates will swing open next week and around 40 pupils are due to start. So have all the issues been resolved and is everything now running smoothly? ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Leicester's Bridget Blair has been finding out.
