In the aftermath of the Scottish Referendum in September, politicians of all party colours have been promoting ideas for how they think the UK constitution needs to change. Some advocate separate parliaments for each UK nation; others suggest we need more regional representation in our cities and counties; others think the time has come for “English votes for English laws”. On Phil Williams’ programme from 10.30pm on Radio 5 live on Wednesday 5 November, we will look at three of the possibilities for democracy in England and explore the issues, hurdles and benefits surrounding them. We have asked three people to summarise each of the proposals in 45 seconds or less. Have a listen to what they’ve got to say. A separate English parliament, by Eddie Bone, English votes for English laws, by Sir Oliver Heald MP and more regional powers, by Ed Cox. Join the debate on Phil Williams’ programme from 10.30pm by calling 0500 909693, texting 85058 or tweeting @bbc5live. Change is coming. But what could it look like?
