iPM

Available for over a year

He was best friends with Neil Armstong, he witnessed the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, he interrogated Nazis and faced death eleven times. And that's the least of it. Captain Eric 'Winkle' Brown is the Navy Fleet Air Arm's most decorated pilot and holds the record for the most flight deck landings. This is a clip from a much longer interview with Jennifer Tracey in April 2013 when Captain Brown was aged 94. iPM got in touch with him after a listener contacted us. On iPM, in April 2013, Eddie Mair and Jennifer Tracey devoted an entire programme to him. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01rw940 Or read more about him www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-22254048
