Ofsted is warning that too many secondary schools in England are not making sufficient progress, with almost a third judged not to be good enough. Chief inspector Sir Michael Wilshaw told Today's Sarah Montague: "We've seen an increase in the number of inadequate failing secondary schools over the last year. We've got now 170,000 students in our secondary schools that are failing." He claimed that: "It's not the status or type of school that is the issue. It is the quality of leadership." First broadcast Today programme 10 December 2014.
