The 27-year-old said her mother was hit by a tree after trying to save the child from the wave. Member's of Dhinusha's family then resusitated her mother, who “opened her eyes”, but Dhinusha says her mother was “ignored” by doctors before her death. Dhinusha was put in an children's home for two years, where she met a "war orphan" she married and now has a child with.
