The SNP’s Colin Keir who represents Edinburgh Western has written to all licensed taxis and pre-booked private hires to adopt a single woman priority policy. Some Edinburgh cab firms have a policy that they will prioritise the collection for a woman who is on her own. Mr Keir said: “I’ve had encouraging conversations with some of the taxis firms in Edinburgh and hope that all of them in the capital and across Scotland sign up to the cabwise plan.
