Man opens his door finds little girl who survived plane crash

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

A seven year old girl who survived a plane crash in Kentucky which killed her parents, walked just under a mile in the dark to get help. Larry Wilkins a 71 year old man from Ketawa in south west Kentucky, was just settling down for the evening when the child, who hasn't been named knocked on his front door: Larry Wilkins told 5 live that the knock at his door was so quiet that he thought it was a racoon. Larry said: "I heard the knock, when I opened the door I seen a little girl there. She had a bloody nose and her little legs were just scratched all over. She told me she'd been in a plane crash and that her mum and dad were dead." This clip is originally from Breakfast on Sunday 4 January 2015.
