Two African American police officers discuss racism

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Recent events in Ferguson have again put the spotlight on the relationship between police and African American communities. Last year saw riots in Ferguson, Missouri over the shooting of black teenager Michael Brown, and nationwide protests after 43-year-old Eric Garner died after being restrained in a chokehold by a New York police officer. 5 live Daily spoke to two African American police officers about the alleged racism by the police. Dennis Sheriff works as a police officer in Berkeley Missouri and Victor Harris is a retired NYPD detective. This clip is originally from 5 live Daily on January 13 2015.
