5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

MPs are to vote before the May 2015 General Election on introducing plain packaging for cigarettes in England. If approved, the change would come into effect in 2016. It follows a series of public consultations on the issue. Public Health Minister Jane Ellison told MPs the move was likely to have a positive impact on public health, particularly for children. 5 Live's Phil Williams has been speaking to the Chair of the British Medical Association Dr Mark Porter and Simon Clark who's Director of FOREST, the pro-smoking organisation. This clip is originally from Phil Williams on Wednesday 21 January 2015
