Edinburgh, Scotland: Napier University World War One Centenary Choral Concert

World War One At ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½

Available for over a year

EH3 9DJ - Lauriston Hall, Edinburgh In January 1915, a special World War One charity concert was staged at Edinburgh’s Lauriston Hall by the Morningside Operatic Company. And when a programme from this concert was donated to Edinburgh’s Napier University, the staff and students of the university’s music department decided to restage the original concert. A century on, the venue has moved to St Andrew’s and St George’s West Church in the city, but the music remains largely unchanged, with selections from Arthur Sullivan and Edward Elgar amongst others. ROB PEARSON went along to rehearsals to speak to some of those who will be singing on the night.
