Samsung is warning customers to avoid discussing personal information in front of their smart televisions. The warning applies to television viewers who control their Samsung Smart TV using its voice activation feature. Alex Scroxton, Networking Editor at Computer Weekly, says he does not think it is the "riskiest security hole" but Samsung's warning provides a "timely reminder for all of us to be aware of what our devices are doing". Alex said: "It's not just collecting you saying 'hello TV switch to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ One, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Two whatever', it's also collecting you saying 'hello darling, when are you going to be home?' Or anything you say." In a statement, Samsung said it takes consumer privacy "very seriously". It said it did not retain voice data or sell the audio being captured.
