Danny Mills: evidence stacks up against Jonny Evans

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Former England defender Danny Mills says Jonny Evans is looking in the direction of Papiss Cisse when he appears to spit at the Newcastle player during Manchester United's 1-0 win at St James' Park on Tuesday evening. Both players face a minimum six-game ban after being charged by the FA for the incident. "It's not at a natural time to spit," Mills says. "Jonny Evans eyes are looking at Papiss Cisse. I don't think you'd be spitting on the floor in that instance. When you go to spit you turn your head away." Mills says spitting is "abhorrent - it's almost saying 'you are beneath me' which is disgraceful". This clip was broadcast on 5 live Sport on Thursday 5 March 2015.
