'When A Man Loves A Woman' was Sting's Wedding Song

The World Tonight

Available for over a year

Percy Sledge's manager, Mark Lyman, says it was a special song to Percy and many others. It was recorded in 1966 and has been popular for nearly 50 years. Sting's wife got in touch with Mark to get Percy involved with their rainforest foundation benefit gig because 'it was their wedding song'. Percy didn't own the rights to the song but he would have sang it 'a billion more times' if he could. He said "there's nobody that can sing that song the way I sing that song." Percy Sledge died at his home in Louisiana aged 73
