‘No party can deliver all of its manifesto’ – David Laws

Today

Available for over a year

The Liberal Democrats have promised to act as a "rock of stability, continuity and conscience" in a future coalition government, as they put education at the centre of their election manifesto. Schools Minister David Laws has defended the Liberal Democrats’ performance in government. “No party in a coalition can deliver all of its manifesto”, he said. But he refused to be drawn on “red line” issues, saying this would be a “nuts” negotiating position to take.
